CafeWell
About this project
I am currently Art Director and UI/UX Engineer at Welltok. Welltok is the parent company of CaféWell which is a heath social media website that specializes in connecting people in the health and wellness sphere. I was brought into CaféWell to rework the antiquated ASP.Net application. That includes how the application is architected, the user experience, the art direction, and a huge amount of jQuery. In the past year we have rewritten the code to become stable in ASP.Net. However in order to hand scale and sustainability (both of which ASP.Net struggles with) we are currently undergoing a migration to Ruby on Rails, using Pivotal Labs as a temporary horsepower boost.
This site shows a countless amount of Ajax and jQuery to keep the user engaged.

Extra Information
As art director, I was responsible from everything from design, user interface, Ajax, front-end coding, and SEO management. Also, when I first got to CaféWell, the site was literally in the dark ages, but we are starting to see the end of the tunnel as we abandon ASP.Net and move to Ruby.
